About Trailbusters Snowmobile Club

Trailbusters Snowmobile Club is a volunteer snowmobile club based between Beresford and Sioux Falls in southeastern South Dakota. The club maintains 73 miles of trail covering the Lennox, Parker, Viborg and Beresford areas, runs community safety training, and works to protect riders' access. It is a member club of the South Dakota Snowmobile Association.

Seventy Three Miles South of Sioux Falls

The Trailbusters trail system sits just south of Sioux Falls and links a set of small towns across the southeastern corner of the state. For riders in the Sioux Falls area, this is the closest groomed trail network, and it exists because club volunteers put the work in every season.

The trails appear on the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks East River snowmobile trail map, which is the official source for trail layout and conditions in the eastern half of the state. Check it before heading out, since eastern South Dakota trails open and close with the snow rather than running on a fixed calendar.

An Easygoing Club

The club describes itself plainly as a group of snowmobile enthusiasts who meet monthly during the winter season. Meetings are potluck dinners followed by a short business meeting, and visitors are welcome to come to one and see what the club is about. That low key approach is a real selling point if you have never joined a club before and are not sure what to expect.

Beyond meetings and trail work, the club runs group rides and takes trips together, including trips out of state to bigger riding country. Members have also been involved with YETIS, the South Dakota Snowmobile Association's youth program, which stands for Youth Empowerment Through Involvement in Snowmobiling.

Safety training for the community is part of the club's mission, alongside supporting local trails and advocating for snowmobilers' rights at the state level.

Getting Involved

Membership supports both the club and the South Dakota Snowmobile Association, which works with Game, Fish and Parks and with state lawmakers to keep trails open and riding access protected.

The club's Facebook group is the most active channel for meeting dates, ride plans and trail updates. Anyone interested in joining or visiting a meeting can start there.
