Gateway Kartplex
The Gateway Kartplex is a purpose-built karting facility inside the oval track at World Wide Technology Raceway. Inside turns one and two, the Kartplex is completely independent from the surrounding racing facilities and can race while the oval and road course are in use. The Kartplex offers a unique location that fully engulfs you in the surrounding motorsports while still maintaining a beautiful view of downtown St. Louis.
The Gateway Kartplex offers an exciting 11-turn, half-mile design with a variation of long, late apex turns, a long back straight and a tough complex of tightly tucked turns sure to test even the best drivers. For the Ignite and SuperComp Racing Series, the Kartplex runs the track in a variety of configurations, including backwards, no chicane, 1/8-mile oval mirroring the World Wide Technology Raceway oval track, and our signature SuperTrack, which sends karts out onto the road course to compete at super fast speeds!
The facility features a variety of ways to become involved in karting. Rental karts are available to run daily for individuals and group events, as well as the Kartplex’s competitive iDrive Rental Racing Series. For private kart owners, the Kartplex is available for open testing during regular business hours and features two ultra competitive racing series: the Ignite Racing Series and the SuperComp Racing Series.
Track amenities include a fully stocked SpeedCenter pro shop, which carries the latest in gear and spare parts as well as licensed apparel, drinks and snacks. Gateway Kartplex also has on-site storage for your karts and gear, and private garages for racing enthusiasts who want a permanent space so they can be track side with the best seat in the house on race day. Many private garage owners turn their space into a home away from home with A/C, big screen TVs, refrigerators, custom cabinets and flooring.
As the St. Louis area’s only authorized Margay Racing dealer, the Gateway Kartplex can get you in the seat and on the race track with ease. Your brand-new race kart will be custom-fitted to your specifications, and we offer racing divisions for kids as young as five to adults of all ages who are still kids at heart.

HOW DO I GET STARTED IN RACING? The Gateway Kartplex is the perfect place to start your journey towards becoming a pro race car driver! If you’re interested in taking the first step, we recommend reaching out to us to learn more about our kart options, classes, schedules, and even karts for sale. We’ll help you get started and guide you every step of the way. DO YOU SELL GO KARTS OR GO KART PARTS? We do sell karts – we are the St. Louis area’s ONLY authorized Margay Racing kart dealer. While we primarily sell new karts, you can also purchase Margay frames. We stock basic kart parts (chains, spark plugs, gears, clutch parts, tires etc.) largely for 4-cycle karts, and can order pretty much anything you might need that we don’t stock. CAN I BRING MY OWN GO KART? Yes, you can, but before heading on track you will have to go through a safety inspection by one of our crew members to ensure that everything is safe and will not injure yourself or others while on track. Waivers must be signed before any on-track activities. “Fun Karts” or “Yard Karts” are not permitted. WHAT IS THE AGE AND HEIGHT LIMIT? For our daily Arrive and Drive the age limit is 14 years old and 48 inches tall. Any driver under 18 years old, they must have a parent or legal guardian present with them to sign the Minor Release Waiver. DO I NEED A LICENSE TO DRIVE? No, you do not need a license to drive our rental karts. But you do need a credit/debit card on file. See more info below. WHAT IS OUR CARD ON FILE POLICY? We require a Credit/Debit card on file for ALL drivers before you can drive our karts. Remember, you are financially responsible for any damages to the kart, barriers on the track, or any other property on or our track. Please call 618-219-8515 for any questions or concerns. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME? All we require is yourself and a parent/guardian for drivers 14 - 17 years old, CLOSED TOED SHOES (SANDALS, HEELS, FLIP FLOPS, ETC. ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE SHOES), and credit/debit card to put on file. DO YOU HAVE DOUBLE SEATERS? No, we do not have double-seater karts. IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT? We do not have any weight limit. Our karts are adjustable to fit a lot of different sizes. It may not be comfortable, but you will have fun! DO YOU RACE IN THE RAIN? No. Our karts are equipped with hard/slick tires which make it very dangerous with even the lightest of rain. Updates regarding the weather are posted on our Facebook post. DO YOU SUPPLY HELMETS OR CAN I BRING MY OWN? Yes, we do supply helmets from Small to XXL. However, if you prefer you can bring your helmet as long as it’s a Snell or DOT-approved FULL-FACE helmet. Dirt Bike helmets are permitted as long as you bring safety goggles.CAN I BUY TICKETS ONLINE? Technically, yes, BUT any tickets bought via our online store will be mailed as a physical gift certificate. If you are trying to use the tickets immediately, DO NOT buy them online. All prices are the same in person and online. RESERVATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED.
